It begins

Writing a blog is a very new thing for me, but we want to keep everyone who has been so generous with their donations updated on our progress.  So I will start at the beginning, a very good place to start.

Hello, my name is Bethany Woolsey and I am organizing a project where my ideal goal is to make 61 quilts for the children in the orphanage in Uganda, Africa. I ask for people to help and donate supplies for the quilts. What we mostly need is patterned, sturdy cotton fabric in large pieces to be cut into strips, as well as thread, backing, and batting. . Also, we request people to volunteer their time and help make these quilts. No specific skills are required, and the first meeting will be at 12 on the 22nd of April till five or later. We will meet every Friday afterwards at 3 and go till 8.  Anyone owning a working sewing machine, please bring it! Please come!
This letter was written by my daughter, who loves to quilt.  Within the first week we had received 20 boxes and bags of donations!  My house looks like a fabric bomb exploded!
These are some of the boxes of fabric we've received!

I will end now.  I want to get this up and running but will definitely post again soon!
